Local Business Review: Palette Indian Kitchen

Smells of turmeric, cardamom, and cumin waft through the colorful walls of Palette Indian Kitchen. Offering a multi-sensory delight, this is a restaurant that never disappoints. With amazing food and excellent customer service in a welcoming atmosphere, this local business is a culinary jewel.

My first experience at Palette was very positive, with successive experiences never failing to delight. The butter chicken has become one of my favorites. Add that to a side of naan, baked in the tandoori oven on-site, and you have a recipe for epicurean delight!

Not long before the outbreak of COVID-19, Calvin and Sujatha Kolluri decided to share their love of authentic, handcrafted Indian food with Spring. Luckily, they had established a loyal following before the world shut down, and they were able to weather the pandemic. They did so with a few changes – namely discontinuing their popular buffet line.

Recently, Palette Indian Kitchen brought back the buffet, in which customers choose their main entree and sides from a displayed selection of dishes. According to the restaurant’s Facebook page, they soon will be offering “Greek salad, fruit salad, two types of hummuses, cold desserts, hot desserts, kabobs, biryanis, and various vegan, vegetarian and also meat dishes.” This is a long-awaited victory for their regulars!

If you have not yet had the experience of dining at this restaurant, do yourself a favor and head to Palette Indian Kitchen. Some customer favorites include Butter Chicken, Masala Dosa, and Lamb Vindaloo. The desserts, such as Gulab Jamun (a fried treat soaked in syrup), are also popular among patrons.

In short, Palette Indian Kitchen is a must-visit for any food lover in Spring. Not only is it a culinary and cultural experience, but the atmosphere makes Palette feel like a home kitchen.
